Kumarakom, today is a maze of modern resorts and heritage-homes-cum-hotels spilling over the island’s bank. Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is a must-visit with its numerous beautiful rivulets and waterways. The scenic Vembanad Lake surrounded by mangrove forests and paddy fields is one of the best places for bird viewing inside the sanctuary. A large population of feathered species along with a pleasant climate make it a great picnic spot. As Kumarakom is a popular backwater destination in Kerala, a houseboat cruise is a must-do activity for visitors. A boat cruise on the beautiful Vembanad lake is one of the best ways to enjoy birdwatching in the park. One can also enjoy wildlife photography at Pathiramanal - a small island on the lake. A little ahead of Kumarakom, you can visit the backwater town of Kottayam – packed with rubber plantations and majestic old churches. Overnight stay arranged in Resort.

Experience Kerala with Agilers Holidays – Where Travel Meets Comfort

People call Kerala "God's Own Country" so often it's basically stopped sounding like marketing, which is rare for a tourism tagline. Coconut water on a beach in Kovalam, mist rolling over a tea plantation in Munnar around 6 AM before the day heats up — none of it feels exaggerated once you've actually seen it. Agilers Holidays builds its Kerala tour packages around getting travelers into that version of the state instead of the flattened, brochure version most agencies sell.

What Actually Makes Kerala Different

Munnar sits at roughly 1,600 meters, which is high enough that nights there genuinely get cold — worth packing a light jacket even in April, something first-time visitors rarely expect from South India. Kochi carries a strange mix of Portuguese, Dutch, and local Malayali influence packed into one waterfront, visible in everything from the old warehouses to the Chinese fishing nets still worked by hand at sunset. Then there's Alleppey, where a houseboat just... stops mattering as transport and becomes the actual point of the day. Best Kerala holiday packages tend to lean into this contrast rather than smoothing it into one generic "backwaters and beaches" pitch.

Not Every Traveler Wants the Same Kerala

A family with kids needs shorter travel days and fewer temple stops than a couple on their honeymoon, and Agilers Holidays plans differently depending on who's actually booking. Kerala family holiday packages usually build around Periyar's wildlife areas, easier beach access, and stays picked more for space than luxury branding — the kind of pacing a Kerala trip package for family groups actually needs to hold up past day three. Couples get pulled toward something quieter instead. Kerala honeymoon packages through Agilers Holidays often center on a private houseboat dinner at sunset, followed by a slower morning walking through a tea estate with nowhere particular to be.

Handling the Boring Parts So the Trip Doesn't Feel Like Work

A trip runs smoothly mostly because of things travelers never notice — transfers that actually show up, hotels booked with some thought behind them, a guide who knows more than the standard script. That's what Agilers Holidays spends most of its effort on with every Kerala tour package, honestly more than people realize until something goes wrong on a trip booked elsewhere. What's left for the traveler is the good part: fresh Kerala food that doesn't taste like a hotel's version of it, a walk through a spice garden that still smells like cardamom hours later, a slow paddle along Vembanad Lake with absolutely nothing scheduled after.

FAQs

Transport, family-friendly stays, wildlife park visits, and guided sightseeing are usually bundled together, with pacing adjusted for kids.

Yes, Agilers Holidays generally accommodates things like a private dinner setup or a particular houseboat route with enough advance notice.

6 to 8 days works well, covering Munnar, Alleppey, and one coastal stop without over-scheduling the days.

Most do — it's one of the more requested stops, partly for the cooler climate and partly for the scenery.

October through March tends to be the most comfortable window, avoiding the heavier monsoon months between June and September.
